What our parents tell us about their experience of our school

We were very glad to hear parents say that their child enjoys school. Many parents commented that the school has high expectations for the pupils at St George the Martyr, particularly around behaviour. Parents also noted that their children are encouraged to work hard and do their best. One parent commented, ‘The school instils a great work ethic in the children.’

Parents shared that the school provides a calm and positive learning environment. Many parents said the school is inclusive and that staff are caring and supportive. Parents were pleased that their child feels safe at St George the Martyr and many described the school as nurturing. One parent shared, ‘The school is very good at making children feel safe, secure and included.’

Many parents told us that they find the school and its staff approachable and friendly. Parents said that the school staff have positive relationships with their children. One parent said, ‘The staff’s engagement and dedication towards managing the children is the best.’ Parents also shared that they feel the school is led and managed well. One parent commented, ‘The leadership team work tirelessly to ensure the best school life for all children. Thank you.’

Parents also commented that they feel able to approach the school with any concerns they may have, such as bullying, and feel reassured that they will be listened to and that these concerns will be taken seriously. One parent noted, ‘The school has a strong focus on supporting both the children and the parents.’

A large number of parents told us that they appreciate the ways that school provides excellent communication with them and regular information through the weekly newsletter, text messages and other letters. They shared that they feel well-informed about what is happening in the school. Parents appreciate when staff meet with them to discuss their child’s progress and any concerns they may have.

Many parents said that teaching is something the school does very well, and as a result their child is making good progress. One parent commented, ‘The school are very dedicated to providing a high quality of education.’ Another parent shared, ‘The teaching and support for my children in school can be seen by the progress they are making over the year.’ Lots of parents commented that the teaching of reading is a strength at St George the Martyr. Parents shared that teaching staff are ‘dedicated’, ‘passionate’ and ‘amazing’. Many parents commented that the school meets pupils’ needs and that their child is well-supported in their learning.
