Computer Coding is a special club at St George the Martyr which has gained popularity since it began in 2014. It is run by Mr Rettew our Teaching Assistant and two external staff members who both work in computer coding. In our KS1 club we also have some volunteers from a local company who help assist the children with their learning.
Mr Rettew runs the club on Wednesdays for KS2 with a maximum of 20 children and on Thursdays for KS1 with a maximum of 10 children.
The club follows a program called Scratch. The children follow steps to gain skills and knowledge of how progamming works, when they reach the end of the program they make their own games. The children can log on to their Scratch account from home in order to continue learning over the weekend.
